John Johnson. Scan of a glass plate negative in The Douglas Keister Collection of Glass Plate Negatives from Lincoln, Nebraska circa 1910-1925. At left is Florence Jones; at right is probably Elenora "Kit" Carriger (later Evans). The older woman may be Kit's mother, Alice. Kit Carriger (1893-1981) married George Evans (1874-1945) around 1919. They were very active in Newman Methodist Episcopal Church. George was a charter member of Lincoln's black Masonic lodge and worked for many years as a chauffeur and houseman for C. B. Towle, a manufacturer. Widowed for 36 years, Kit cooked for a fraternity.
