After losing their home on Debbie Lane in Paradise, Kyle and Mary Rose Monney moved into an apartment in Chico. When the initial shock began to subside they vowed to move back to the place they loved and also saw an opportunity to design the home they always wanted.

They moved into their new home in the same location in December 2021, a full three years after the fire.

The home may look like many others on the outside but entering it reveals an enormous great room. The couple also incorporated a selection of relics salvaged from the fire. Kyle, a contractor by trade, also built another home across the street which is a rental.
