AP124.JPG
New Orleans, Louisiana. 1836. An early cottage in New Orleans, this house was originally built by a Jewish merchant from Amsterdam, Asher Moses Nathan. Classical, Greek Revival details such as the exterior block siding are combined with the form of a French Creole, shotgun cottage. The vibrant paint scheme is reflective of the colors popular in New Orleans during the 1830's.
