The Oasis Trailer Company gingerly stepped into the motorhome market with the introduction of this 1968 22-foot Oasis motorhome. The exact number of units manufactured by the Bellflower, California, company is unknown, but the VIN number, #131, on this unit probably means that it was either unit 131 or 31. The Oasis is powered by a 318 Dodge engine and has a one-piece fiberglass top mounted on a Dodge M-300 chassis. One interesting aspect of the Oasis is its “tumblehome” design, a boat-building term that means it flares in the middle, which makes its bottom appear noticeably larger than its top. In this case, the tumblehome design results in a Darth Vaderesque profile. Jeff Hammers owns the Oasis. Photographed at the Deming Log Show Grounds, Bellingham, Washington.
