The courtyard of The Towers Bed and Breakfast in Milford, Delaware, is a study in restrained relaxed formality. Victorian courtyards are usually quite formal and ordered, but the owners of The Towers made this courtyard a bit less formal by using flowing, organic designs. A brick patio surrounds a rectangular pond with a gently spraying fountain; airy wire furniture, wispy plantings and a whimsical sculpture of a dancing child complete the scene. The Towers bed and breakfast was built in 1783 and remodeled in 1891 in the “Steamboat Gothic” style.
