Since almost anything that was combustible burned entirely to the ground, one of the most common post-fire sights were washers and dryers, toolboxes and plastic garbage cans. Many garbage cans were relatively unscathed since they were moored on the street awaiting collection. The ones pictured are half-melted, perhaps protected by the refuse inside them.
