Spanish Revival architects and builders made extensive use of architectural landscape structures such as retaining walls, benches, and fountains--one reason these homes relate so well to their sites. In the case of this front garden, the sculpted network of walls and planters is a modern addition, but is superbly integrated into the original Spanish Revival design dating from 1935.
