This cozy abode, reminiscent of an English Cotswold cottage is tucked into a ravine just below the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles. The Hollywood sign originally read ìHollywoodlandî and was an advertisement for a housing development begun in 1923. Originally the development was supposed to contain mostly romantic and Storybook style homes, but as budgets and pocketbooks tightened during the Great Depression, regulations were relaxed and more pedestrian homes were built. Still there are many wonderful homes to see in the area and the Storybook style sleuth will be rewarded with glimpses of fanciful homes once owned by stars like Humphrey Bogart, Gloria Swanson and Bela Lugosi. Even Madonna owned one of the larger homes for a while.
