This otherwise simple plank door designed by Tucson architect Josias Joesler features a carved relief of a Pony Express rider on his rounds; the light-colored sun rising above the hills behind him forms the door’s viewing port. The delicately wrought hardware is an excellent example of the era’s outstanding craftsmanship.
