This imposing outdoor fireplace occupies one side of the Primavera’s courtyard; above its firebox, a swelling stucco hood is surmounted by a cast-stone relief of the Madonna and Child. To either side are a pair of wrought iron sconces. The chimney cap, with its grillwork of diagonal clay tiles, is a typical Andalusian detail that was frequently seen in Spanish Revival work of the area. Outdoor fireplaces such as this one would reappear in a number of Zwebell projects.
