A more familiar stepped balustrade encloses this tiled staircase; its seemingly kaleidoscopic array of tiles is in fact limited to a mere three motifs.  The bright tiles, combined with the flowers in their colored pots, typify the cheerful simplicity of the Andalusian vernacular that so captivated architects during the Twenties.
