1957 Caravanner. In 1956, Airstream introduced the twenty-two foot Caravanner. Light enough to easily tow, but large enough for extended excursions, the Caravanner proved to be one of the longest lived Airstreams (it was manufactured from 1956 to 1960 as a twenty-two foot trailer then reappeared in 1970 and continued through the 70's as a twenty-five foot trailer. The design of the first Caravanner included large windows on the port side. The windows as well as the name, Caravanner were a response to the requests from participants of Wally Byam's well publicized caravans.
